Observed Observer
The core concept of the project is to invert the gaze of the photographer to change the image from spectacle to representation of the subject. Women artists are photographed with wardrobe that is unique to them in a location that is meaningful to them. During the shoot, they are asked to look at the camera. Afterwards, I make a handmade, case bound book of the shoot and send them a copy in exchange for their time and energy. There is a show planned to display the prints at Liliana Bloch Gallery in Dallas in Oct 2025.
